Extension to deadlines for ERC grant applications

The closing dates of the ERC Starting and Synergy Grants calls have been postponed due to the situation in the Middle East:

  • ERC Starting Grant call: from 24 October to 7 November 2023;
  • ERC Synergy Grant call: from 8 to 15 November 2023.

Widening National Information Event

Widening calls in Horizon Europe are designed to fund research and networking, with the specific aim of improving the research & innovation output of the "widening countries": Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

If you have collaborations with any of these countries, or if you would like to, register for this online event co-organised by EU GrantsAccess and Euresearch on 8 November 2023. The basics of the Widening schemes, possibilities for participation, tips for finding partners etc. will be covered during this event.

MSCA Call for Staff Ex­change Pro­pos­als now o

The Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions (MSCA) “Staff Exchanges” call funds secondments of research and innovation staff across countries and sectors. It involves organisations from the academic and non-academic sectors (including SMEs) from across the globe.

The call for proposals has just been launched today, with a deadline for submission set on 28 February 2024. More info on the call topic available here.

Swiss-based institutions can participate as Associated Partners and host secondments with EU funding as well as having researchers seconded with national funding. EIT Health Sum­mit 2024: save the date

Registration is still open for the Ho­ri­zon Europe Info Days on Cluster 4 “Digital, Industry and Space”!

The European Commission is organising an online info event on 11-12 October 2023, to inform interested parties about the upcoming funding opportunities of the 2024 Horizon Europe calls in Cluster 4 “Digital, Industry and Space”.

In addition to hearing about the call topics from EC speakers, potential applicants will be able to ask questions during this two-day event.

Targeted Consultation under the Proposed New European Bauhaus Mission

The European Commission proposed to establish a sixth mission under Horizon Europe dedicated to the New European Bauhaus to make the green transformation of the built environment more accessible, affordable and attractive to neighbourhoods.

The EC launched a survey to shape this potential future mission. The purpose of this targeted consultation is to gather the views of the professional community on the R&I needed for the transformation of the construction ecosystem, in order to identify and define the right components to design this potential future mission.

Swiss Accelerator Call 2023 now open

Innosuisse has opened a new call for applications for the Swiss Accelerator, which is aimed at Swiss SMEs or start-ups. Applications to the Swiss Accelerator are made via a three-stage process:

  1. Short application to be submitted through the Innosuisse online application platform, until the submission deadline of 9 October 2023;
  2. Full application to be submitted upon invitation based on Innosuisse’s evaluation of the short application;
  3. Presentation to Innosuisse upon invitation based on the evaluation of the full application. The Innovation Council then makes the final funding decision.

Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society Calls 2024 in Horizon Europe

Three main events are being organised for researchers in Social Sciences and the Humanities.

1. Info Event - 5 October 2023

    An online Info Day will give an overview of upcoming calls and partnering tools for Horizon Europe, Cluster 2. This cluster covers numerous transdisciplinary R&I opportunities in areas such as Democracy & Governance, Cultural & Creative Industries, European Cultural Heritage, and Social and Economic Transformations.

    This event targets Swiss-based researchers and innovators from academia as well as SMEs and other organisations active in technology-driven and/or social and economic disciplines related to the relevant fields of expertise.

    2. Brokerage Event - 18 October 2023

    An online Brokerage Event will give potential applicants the opportunity to search for partners and build up project consortia.

    3. Pre-proposal Check Session - 8 November 2023

    A Pre-Proposal Check Session for applicants will be held subsequent to the Brokerage Event. The selected pre-proposals will be reviewed by experienced evaluators and NCPs. The session consists of a 45 min online meeting during which evaluators will provide feedback and tips on how to enhance project ideas.
